What does Matcha mean?
Matcha means ground tea, where ma means ground, and cha means tea.
What are the different grades of matcha?
There are a lot of different qualities of matcha. The best quality of matcha comes from Japan. Our matcha is exclusively from Japan.
Then the industry usually makes a difference between culinary/cooking grade and ceremonial grade matcha.
Culinary/Cooking matcha is a grade that is recommended to use for any cooking you'd like but that we wouldn't necessarily recommend to drink alone as it is more astringent than ceremonial matcha.
Ceremonial matcha is a grade used in traditional tea ceremony in japan. It's made with only the best leaves of the harvest. Even if a matcha is called ceremonial, there are a lot of different qualities even in what you find are called ceremonial matchas. You can judge the quality of a matcha by its color, taste, smell, texture and origin. We have ensured that our ceremonial matchas are only made with the most delicate and best grades we found.
Are your products tested for heavy metals (lead, arsenic, etc.), pesticides and radiation?
Yes, all our products are tested for heavy metals, pesticides and radiation on a regular basis and have never reported any issues. Our Matcha is for example tested by two third party labs in the US.
Where is your matcha tea grown?
For each tea, the origin is clearly stated on our product description and labels. Our match is sourced in the best matcha producing region of Japan usually Nishio and Uji.
Are your products organic?
For most of them Yes ! Most of our teas are strictly organically grown and certified by the USDA. On each product page we will specify if the product is ORGANIC or not.
Why is matcha expensive compared to other teas?
A matcha harvest is a very time consuming and mininutious process. It includes the shading of the tea fields, the harvesting of each tea leaf by hand, the stone grinding into a fine powder, etc. All these steps require human labor and time.
Our matcha teas are also exclusively from Japan where the labor costs are higher than tea from China/ Sri Lanka or India for example... but the matcha is so much better !
Is your matcha gluten-free and non GMO?
Yes, 100% !
Is there caffeine in matcha?
Yes - matcha contains caffeine.
For half a teaspoon of matcha there is about 25-30 mg of caffeine. This is less than a regular coffee. However because of the large amounts of L-Theanine in matcha - a amino acid that boosts relaxation, the caffeine in matcha is delivered to your body over a long period. Drinking matcha will get you a lovely energy boost that will last longer than coffee and will be delivered without the jitters!
Can I drink Matcha while breastfeeding or while pregnant?
It's generally recommended to limit caffeine consumption while breastfeeding or while pregnant, so keep in mind matcha contains caffeine. If you can handle 1-2 glasses of coffee then you should be fine.

You are selling Wheat Grass Blend & Barley Grass Powder and it says Gluten-Free on the package! How is this possible?
Pure wheat grass and barley grass (just the grass, with absolutely no seeds) do not contain gluten, the protein that is thought to cause reactions in celiac disease and possibly in non-celiac gluten sensitivity. Gluten occurs only in the grains—for example, the seeds—produced by the grass plants wheat, barley, and rye.
Is blue spirulina natural? Its color is too bright to be real!
Our blue spirulina is 100% natural and it is extracted from the blue-green spirulina algae. Blue spirulina or Phycocyanin extract is one of the most important compounds found in the very well known algae. Blue spirulina is known for being packed with antioxidants and rich in proteins.
The blue spirulina pouch from your brand is super tiny! Can't you bring a regular sized pouch, like the other powders?
Our Blue Spirulina comes in 30g (1oz) package. It is an extremely delicate product and we are very careful on the way we extract the blue phycocyanin from the green spirulina. The delicate physical process and all the tests we do to ensure its quality makes it on the pricey side indeed. However, being a super concentrated extract, a little goes a long way. 1g of the blue spirulina is loaded with antioxidants and will be enough to enjoy the benefits and to give your food creation a beautiful blue color. So you probably get around 20 to 30 servings out of the packet.
Where is your blue spirulina sourced from?
Our blue spirulina comes from the Kumamoto region in the sea of Japan, extremely far from the spill that occurred 9 years ago on the Pacific side. All our products are in any case tested by 3rd party labs for heavy metals, etc. We love Japan as It is one of the healthiest land on the planet and its population have the highest life expectancy on earth. They pay close attention to the safety and nutrients they put in their body and their health can only attest of the quality of their food. We are also happy to share all our tests if you'd like to see them.
Can I add a coupon code on top of my subscription?
Subscriptions are offers that already include a discount. Unfortunately, you cannot add a discount on top of something that has already been discounted.
Why can't I get the bundles with the discount code you have on your current sale?
Bundles are products that have already been discounted, so you already get them at a special price. We can't add a discount on top of a product that has already been discounted.
